Swedish medtech company Getinge announced today that the president of its Life Science business is resigning to pursue an external opportunity.

A veteran of BD, Abbott and Boston Scientific, Eric Honroth joined Getinge eight years ago. He moved up to worldwide president of Life Science in 2022.

“We are thankful for Eric’s important contributions to Getinge, first as president for North America Sales and later as president Life Science,” Getinge CEO Mattias Perjos said in a news release. “His leadership, commitment and clear strategic direction have helped strengthen the business and create a strong foundation for the future. I would like to sincerely thank Eric for our collaboration and wish him every success in his new role.”

Honroth’s official departure date is Oct. 31, and Getinge has commenced an internal and external search process for his successor.

Life Science made up nearly 13% of Getinge’s nearly 35 billion SEK ($3.57 billion) in revenue last year. It manufacturers equipment for pharmaceutical processing and medical research.
