Static build up is always a concern in any drying, granulating or coating operation, particularly one that is solvent based. If the static charge cannot be drawn off from the system easily, dangerous levels of static can build creating a spark. Static can also create problems with surface cling, making granulation and coating applications inconsistent and drying processes slower. With every conductivity test we perform, we provide QA documentation that states your product has successfully met our Sefar standard. When testing your product, we insure a conductive electrical pathway exists for static dissipation from the top (A) to the bottom (B) of your Fluid Bed Dryer Bag. Static is then safely drawn off through the mounting ring and ground wire. Bag construction is just as important as the material. Unknowing fabricators will use non-conductive materials for reinforcements or non-filtering components. These can insulate the bag in critical areas, breaking the conductive pathway that draws the static charge away.
