WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. (AP) — Merck & Co. said Tuesday it will launch the cholesterol drug Tredaptive in Mexico, the United Kingdom and Germany by the third quarter. The drug is approved to treat the cholesterol conditions dyslipidemia and primary hypercholesterolemia. It is now approved in 39 countries outside the United States, but remains investigational there. The FDA rejected it last year. The regulatory agency has requested more information on the drug before considering it again for approval. Last summer, Tredaptive received approval in the European Union, Iceland and Norway.
