PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Shire PLC said Wednesday it settled a lawsuit with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. over a supply contract for generic versions of Shire’s attention deficit hyperactivity disorder drug Adderall XR. No consideration was exchanged by the parties as part of the settlement, Shire said. Shire has been supplying Teva with an authorized generic version of the drug since April. Teva had filed a lawsuit claiming Shire was in breach of contract because of supply issues. At issue, Shire said, were supply limits of the active ingredient amphetamine, which has restrictions set by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Following Teva’s lawsuit filing, the agency granted Shire additional quota for 2009, allowing Shire to supply Teva with additional product.
