By Mike Botta | March 16, 2016

New York – WNS (Holdings) Limited, a business process management services company, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Value Edge Research Services Pvt. Ltd., of Noida, India. The deal is valued at $17.5 million.

Value Edge, a consulting firm that offers commercial research and analytical services in the pharma/biopharma sector, created a cloud-based advanced technology platform designed to provide clients with competitive intelligence.

“The acquisition of Value Edge deepens our domain and specialized analytical capabilities in the growing pharma market, and provides WNS with a technology asset which is leverage-able across clients and industries,” Keshav Murugesh, CEO of WNS said.

The founder and managing director of Value Edge, Rohit Anand, said the deal with WNS allows his company to tap into new areas of demand, drive deeper relationships, and expand its offerings.

The acquisition, subject to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approval and other customary conditions, is expected to close in the first quarter of fiscal 2017. WNS said it intends to fund the transaction “with cash on hand,” and that the deal includes adjustments for cash and working capital.

Value Edge is expected to contribute approximately $5 million in revenue for WNS in fiscal 2017, according to the company. Value Edge currently employs more than 100 people in India, the United States and Europe. Its U.S. offices are located in Hingham, MA.

In addition to competitive intelligence, Value Edge services include opportunity assessment, forecasting, reporting and dash-boarding, modeling, business intelligence tool building, and data analysis. It also offers pricing analytics, patient data analysis, key account management, sales force effectiveness services, and social media monitoring.

WNS (Holdings), with corporate offices in Mumbai, India, London, and Jersey City, NJ, serves more than 200 clients in healthcare, manufacturing, retail and consumer packaged goods, travel, insurance, banking and financial services, shipping and logistics, and utilities.

Its services include customer interaction; enterprise analytics; enterprise information technology; finance and accounting; governance, risk and compliance; human resources; legal services; procurement, and research.
