XP-600 is a highly water
soluble addition/alternate to MCC 102 in the formulations tablets, especially
for APIs that are coated, highly elastic, micronized, soft, and/or have low
water solubility. XP-600 adds water solubility, as well as protection, from
overpressure to a tablet formulation. Advantages include: durable tablets at
low pressure: the flat, microcrystalline plate structure is designed to
fragment at low tablet press pressure forming the tablet “skin”; tabletting at
high speeds: a “hollow core” design (open particle interior) allows for rapid
“crush in place” particle deformation and excellent flowability.
