The Sterile Process Design (SPD) vent has been optimized for use in critical single-use sterile filtration processes and offers a number of new features. The large knurled knob is easy to actuate with gloved hands, while multi-turn flow initiation allows for precise metering of flow during venting operations. The SPD vent is a fully captured assembly, which makes it impossible for operators to accidentally over-actuate, damage or remove the vent from the filter during use. The SPD’s dual vent stem seals ensure a sterile process envelope and a unique polymeric sealing technology negates the need for O-rings, simplifying the materials of construction.
