The LDCS-Plus laboratory development coating system is designed with the unique ability to perform process feasibility testing, process development and clinical batches with the ability to utilize eight (8) pans ranging in size from 1.5 liters to 20.0 liters. It is a portable, self-contained coating system for the application of aqueous, solvent and sugar film coatings. All pans are anti-marking with a polished mirror finish and have abrasion-resistant perforations. Each size of pan has the capability to process as low as 25 percent of the rated volume capacity (1.5, 2.5, 4.0, 6.0, 8.0, 11.0, 15.0 and 20.0 liters) for maximum batch-size flexibility. Unique inlet and exhaust air seals are used to minimize any process air leakage and energy consumption. Pan removal and installation is simple and requires no tools. The pans are easily removed through the front access door that provides complete access for installation and removal. The pan cabinet is wash-down, with a drain port to assist in cleaning the system after processing. A color touchscreen OIP panel provides the operator the ability to control and monitor the coating process in either a manual or automatic mode. Machine functions are security protected and are performed and monitored using a PLC that controls the interlocks, alarm conditions and annunciations associated with the process.
