The Accela-Cota® FLEX 500 is a production class tablet coater with exchangeable drums. There are five different drum configurations available so that manufacturers can now select a drum and mixing baffles that best suit a particular product, batch size or coating process, and provide best handling for sensitive tablet cores. Each drum can process tablet loads from full volume capacity all the way down to batches as small as one fourth of capacity. Using an innovative positioner, spray gun angle and distance to bed can be maintained over the full range of bed heights within each drum. Mixing baffles are easily exchanged to best suit desired bed depth, mixing action and tablet core properties. The innovative design of the exhaust plenum has adjustment features to ensure that warm process air is directed through the tablet bed to promote efficiency, uniformity, and good film development.
