The VisiSens system combines optical sensor technology with digital imaging. According to the company, measuring and evaluating O2, pH or CO2 distribution in heterogeneous samples has never been so easy. This easy-to-handle, portable device allows 2D visualization of analyte distributions. Each image taken with the system contains the information of a whole array of single sensor points. A fluorescent sensor foil is attached to the sample surface or the bottom of a culture vessel to map metabolic activity in tissue (animal or plant), cell suspensions or similar complex biological solutions or gels. With a portable, USB-powered fluorescence microscope, the sensor response can be read out non-invasively. Recordings taken over time can give new insight or enable new ways for examining complex biological processes in living samples, and moreover, you are able to influence experiment conditions during measurement. The system is delivered with software that allows easy and intuitive control of the camera and data acquisition. Furthermore, it assists in data organization and storage.
