Sparta Systems and Open Text Partner to Provide Solutions for Quality Management and Electronic Document Management

By Pharmaceutical Processing | February 17, 2004

Sparta Systems, Inc., a developer of enterprise Quality Management Systems (QMS), and makers of TrackWise&reg Quality Management Systems software, and Open Text Corporation provider of Livelink&reg, a collaboration and content management software for the global enterprise, announced recently the integration of Livelink and TrackWise, to give pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device customers a flexible integrated solution to manage quality issues and related documentation in the drug and device testing, development, and manufacturing processes.

The TrackWise/Livelink integration ties together all documentation and other content associated with specific quality issues – CAPA, change control, audits – being managed and tracked. The integration enables customers to perform many Livelink electronic document management functions, such as check in and out, version control and content search, directly from the TrackWise interface.

“Regulations for reporting event discrepancies really put the pressure on customers to monitor all activity in response to problems and issues that arise in the development, manufacturing and delivery of drugs and medical devices,” said Martin Sumner Smith, Vice President of Pharmaceutical Solutions at Open Text. “Speed, accuracy and completeness of response is essential, so customers need an integrated solution that brings event tracking into their overall collaboration and content management systems. By partnering with Sparta, we are able to deliver an easy-to-deploy solution that directly addresses these critical requirements.”
