Small and Large Molecule Chromatographic Separations Using UPLC

By Pharmaceutical Processing | March 5, 2009

Company continuously seeks and develops new technologies to better serve/support their clients and enhance their services. To meet their client’s continuing need for information-rich data quickly, Avatar has added the Acquity™ UPLC (Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatograph) to their portfolio of techniques. By applying this latest advance in separation technology, the company has been able to transform traditional HPLC Amino Acid assays typically requiring fluorescence detection and 45+ min run times, into validated, 10 minute separations with baseline resolutions of all amino acids using UV detection. The company has employed this powerful technique in the area of stability as well. Forced degradation studies are instrumental to determining whether a test method is capable of indicating stability. To ensure success, Avatar not only creates and implements a forced degradation program prior to implementing a stability study, but also will characterize the degradation products by MS coupled with UPLC for added sensitivity and reduced product requirements.
