The Copar unit is available in single-acting (Type DRE) or double-acting (Type DRD) design, both providing the force necessary to operate process control ball, butterfly, and throttle-type valves, not only to their fully open or closed positions, but also to intermediate positions by means of closed-loop positioning technology. Actuators are available in 14 sizes with torque ranging between 8 to 8,000 Nm at 6 bar. They employ rack and pinion technology with twin piston cylinder drives that rotate the actuator shaft 90. Maximum operating pressure for all sizes is 10 bar, with minimum pressure for the sizes 1 through 4 specified at 2.5 bar and 2.0 bar for sizes 8 through 880.
