The BRO/BUF comes equipped with a 1.2 m long B1 tubular module, allowing cross-flow of process liquor over a membrane area of 0.9m2. For applications requiring nanofiltration and reverse osmosis, the unit can be equipped with up to six 3.6 m long membranes, increasing the total membrane area to 15.6m2. On-the-spot replacement of the membrane/housing enables the unit to accommodate a wide range of 2.5 inches x 40 inches polymeric membranes, in spiral-wound configurations, testing across the filtration spectrum. The plant is supplied with feed pump, shell-and tube-design heat exchanger for control of process temperature, and all necessary instrumentation allowing data for scale-up to be collected accurately and easily.
