To meet the needs of regional manufacturers, PACK EXPO East (Feb. 27–Mar. 1; Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia) returns to the City of Brotherly Love next week for a follow-up to its 2015 debut. With nearly one-third of the nation’s top CPGs located within 200 miles or less of Philadelphia, the Northeastern United States is a critical center of manufacturing.
Owned and produced by PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, the show will bring together over 400 exhibitors and more than 7,000 industry professionals over 100,000 net square feet of exhibit space.

TaskMate Aseptic Syringe Filler and Capper Provides Precision Dosage and Sterile Environment
In order to address the growing concerns for accuracy and sanitation in the pharmaceutical industry, ESS Technologies, Inc. (Booth #414) introduces its TaskMate Aseptic Syringe Filler and Capper. By creating a sterile environment using FANUC clean class robotic cell with OEM supplied RABS, the TaskMate uses robotics technology to fill and cap syringes with precision. One robot picks a syringe from the flex picker conveyor and transfers it to the filling station and a second robot picks the syringe from the filling station, places the syringe tip on a cap and torques it. That robot discharges filled and capped syringes via a divided gravity chute to a customer-supplied bin.
VitaFlex Introduces New Soft-stretch Hoods for Contamination Control
To meet the rigorous safety standards of industries, such as the pharmaceutical market, VitaFlex (Booth #421) offers its soft-stretch hoods for cleanroom apparel. The hoods help prevent infection and control contamination. Designed to fit comfortably, VitaFlex soft-stretch hoods cover the entire neck and head without users overheating.
