Pharma Company Uses Speaker Fees to Get Physicians to Prescribe More Drugs

By PR Newswire | January 11, 2017

Corporate Whistleblower now urges a doctor with proof a pharma company is illegally using speaker fees to get physicians to prescribe more drugs to call them about possible rewards.

The Department of Justice recently received a $38 million settlement to resolve allegations that a pharmaceutical company violated the Anti-Kickback Statute, which prohibits the payment of remuneration to induce referrals of items or services covered by federal health care programs, by providing payments and meals to certain physicians. The DOJ alleged the free meals were provided as an inducement for physicians to prescribe more pharmaceutical products.

In this instance, the whistleblower will receive approximately $7.8 million.

The Corporate Whistleblower is saying, “We are inviting a physician to call us anytime at 866-714-6466 if they possess proof a pharmaceutical company’s reps are attempting to bribe physicians into prescribing more drugs-especially if we are talking about Medicare patients, and or if drug reps are promoting off-labeling.”

For more information about a recent Department of Justice settlement related to a pharmaceutical company paying off physicians please refer to the December 2016 DOJ press release on the topic.
