SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Bayer will run a $20 million national advertising campaign to correct misleading information about the uses of its oral contraceptive Yaz under an agreement announced Tuesday. Oregon Attorney General John Kroger said Bayer Corp. violated terms of a 2007 multistate settlement over Yaz. Kroger says Bayer improperly promoted Yaz to treat symptoms of premenstrual syndrome without federal approval. He says Bayer also overstated the effects of Yaz on acne. The German pharmaceutical company also must submit television ads promoting Yaz to federal regulators for approval.
