NORWALK, CT (December 23, 2004) – Reed Exhibitions and Reed Business Information’s Medical Design Technology magazine announced details of Medical Device Puerto Rico, a two-day event aimed at providing medical device manufacturing professionals in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean region with direct access to equipment and technology for the design, manufacturing and packaging of medical devices and instrumentation.
Medical Device Puerto Rico Exhibition/Conference will be held February 7-8, 2005 at the Caribe Hilton Hotel & Resort in San Juan PR.
The exhibition will feature nearly 100 vendors showcasing technologies and innovations for manufacturing medical devices and instruments that are used for measuring, control, diagnosis and analysis.

The conference portion will include an educational program developed in conjunction with INDUNIV and the Center for Professional Advancement (CfPA).
Workshops and accredited short courses covering key topics will include: Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing, Managing Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Inspections, New Medical Device Reporting Rules, and Commissioning & Qualification for medical device manufacturers.
Opening plenary address will be delivered by the FDA’s Linda Kahan, deputy director, Center for Devices & Radiological Health (CDRH). The presentation, “CDRH: A Vision for 2005 & Beyond,” will include discussion of compliance issues, new guidance documents, and other topics impacting the regulatory environment of medical technology companies.
