RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Packaging company MeadWestvaco Corp. says it has acquired a Switzerland-based company that designs electronic monitoring systems used in drug packaging to improve adherence.
The Richmond-based company announced the acquisition of AARDEX Group SA on Wednesday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/Lrozii) that the acquisition expands MeadWestvaco’s presence in health care-related packaging products. It provides packaging solutions to pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, and health care companies.
The company says that AARDEX Group’s management team will remain in place and its 12 employees will become MeadWestvaco employees
MeadWestvaco operates in 30 countries and has customers in more than 100 nations.
