Lab-Size Roll Compactor Allows Minute Quantities Of Materials To Be Processed

By Pharmaceutical Processing | February 23, 2010

The TFC – LAB Micro roll compactor offers capacities that range from a minimum of 0 to 20 grams to a maximum of 600 plus kilos per hour of material. The unit is a bench-top roll compaction system for dry powder compaction and granulation with a throughput capacity of 0 – 100 grams. Uniform compacted sheets are produced with consistent hardness and density. This unit is designed for product development and for clinical supply manufacturing. A cantilevered roll design provides easy changeover and removal of the rolls for process flexibility and cleaning. The stainless steel tapered single screw feeder de-aerates and pre-compacts the material as it is fed into the roll compaction zone. An optional rotary granulating mill is available to process the compacted material into granules. A manual process control system provides control and a digital readout for the roll and screw speed. Roll compaction pressure is electronically adjusted and has a pressure gauge for the pressure setting. Power source is 100/110, 50/60, 1 Phase.
