New York – Two major packaging companies are returning as participants in this year’s International Pharmaceutical Expo (INTERPHEX), joining nearly 100 new companies among the estimated 600 overall planning to exhibit on the massive show floor at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, April 26-28, in New York.
The Marchesini Group (Booth 3125), a supplier of primary and secondary packaging for the pharmaceutical, biotech, and cosmetic industries, and Bosch Packaging Technology (Booth 3106), a provider of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical processing, packaging, and manufacturing technologies, have signed on for space on the 300,000 square foot tradeshow floor.
With the return of Marchesini and Bosch to the show, Ed Several, senior VP of INTERPHEX, said attendees have an opportunity to “find solutions for site and project challenges to cost effectively develop and manufacture products.”
Meanwhile, the official deadline for nomination submissions for the annual INTERPHEX Exhibitor Award honors is rapidly approaching, Nominations must be in by March 18. Winners will receive special recognition at the tradeshow.

- Best New Product/Service
- Editor’s Choice
- Best Technological Innovation
- Along with two new categories: INTERPHEX Efficiency Champion and Biotech Innovation Award.
The awards were established to recognize companies that showcase creative technologies and/or new strategies and services that have significantly improved pharma and biopharma development and manufacturing.
Winners will be announced in the morning of the first day of the show, April 26, with Exhibitor Award meter boards placed at show entrance and at the winning exhibit booth. (Further details of the award program are available online by clicking here.)
The INTERPHEX annual trade show and conference also includes a series of comprehensive technical education sessions, workshops, and opportunities for the estimated 10,000 attendees to explore partnering options and participate in networking events.
“INTERPHEX provides us with the opportunity to meet with many of our pharmaceutical and packaging clients in one location,” said Roger Toll, executive VP at Marchesini.
Marchesini Group USA, established in 1992, provides precision pharmaceutical packaging equipment and service to clients in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada from its North American headquarters in West Caldwell, NJ. The worldwide headquarters is located in Pianoro, Bologna, Italy.
The company’s equipment offerings include: blister and deep draw thermoformers; bundlers; cartoners; horizontal and vertical case packers; depackers; box and tray formers; jar fillers; labelers; track & trace/serialization technology; aseptic fillers for vials, ampules, and disposable syringes; liquid fillers/cappers; palletizers; washing, depyrogenation tunnels; strip machines; tray packers; tube fillers; wrapping/banding equipment; wallet packaging; needle safety device assembly; inhaler assembly; and test equipment.
Bosch’s Tony Miller, a marketing executive for the company’s packaging technology unit in Minneapolis, said Bosch now has the ability to provide complete lines from a single supplier, which serves to increase performance and lower costs.
The Bosch Packaging Technology division supplies process and packaging technology and after-sales service for the pharmaceuticals, food, and confectionery industries.
Including its sales and service partners, Bosch is represented in roughly 150 countries. In 2015 the company applied for some 5,400 patents worldwide. It is based in Waiblingen near Stuttgart, Germany
Among the many new exhibitors at the INTERPHEX 2016 will be Camfil APC (Booth 3760), featuring dust collection technology; Clariant Corp. (Booth 1945), which hopes to improve patient adherence to treatment by making drug-delivery devices more attractive to patients; and Panasonic Healthcare Corp. of North America (Booth 3670), offering a complete line of biomedical laboratory products.
Also scheduled to exhibit for the first time are Rite-Hite (Booth 1857), maker of clean-room doors; Samsung Biologics (Booth 1340), provider of cGMP CMO operations; and Pentair (Booth 3471), which offers process control technology.
