With more than 10,000 attendees expected from 48 countries, this year’s International Pharmaceutical Expo (INTERPHEX) trade show and conference offers key networking opportunities for pharmaceutical professionals from virtually every segment of the industry.
Sponsored buy the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA), the three-day annual event kicks off April 26 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, located at the edge of the Hudson River in Manhattan.
According to organizers, pharmaceutical professionals in attendance will include representatives from general management, facilities operations, project management, research development and formulation, the engineering community, business development, plant management, quality control, product manufacturing, facilities design, process development, regulatory affairs, and continuous quality verification.
In recent years, as the economy has been on the rebound, trade shows in general have witnessed a resurgence in interest, as companies take advantage of having so many industry representatives in one place at one time.
In fact, business-to-business exhibitions posted a strong year-on-year gain of 3.7 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015, according to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), the second highest rate since the second quarter of 2012. Overall, the trade show business has outperformed the macro economy for four quarters straight, the group reported.
Specifically in the pharmaceutical industry, the ability for face-to-face visits with existing clients and partners, as well as to meet potential new clients within the short period of a few days, has become an attractive alternative to the long journeys on the road.
“INTERPHEX gave us an opportunity to meet with many of our pharmaceutical clients in one location, saving us four weeks of travel time” Sterling Kline, VP, IPS-Integrated Project Services, told organizers. “INTERPHEX continues to be the best and most important conference in North America for pharmaceutical manufacturing.”
In a blog post shared on the INTERPHEX website, Whitehouse Laboratories called INTERPHEX “a must attend event,” citing three key reasons:
- It was downright fun to see what our clients actually looked like
- The overall crowd attending the exhibit hall was friendly and accommodating
- While the true education is gained in the actual speaking events, do not short change what can be learned with a stroll through the exhibit hall
