The VirtualLab is an integrated informatics platform that provides an extensible solution for workflow automation, instrument integration, and electronic laboratory notebook functionality. The system provides the researcher the ability to integrate and automate the information-rich R&D workflows and to assemble all the elements of the experimental process into a single software environment. The software facilitates experimental design, execution, and analysis is a way very similar to a researcher’s natural way of working. Common information need only be entered once, complex unit conversion are performed automatically, and design parameters are easily applied to generate multiple experiments as needed. VirtualLab then collects and integrates process and analytical data from multiple lab instruments as well as traditional bench chemistry activities. The resulting data presented for analysis is a user-friendly manner and stored in a structured, portable, and searchable format. The activities are all performed within a secure environment with a rich set of features to support compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 and other regulatory requirements.
