Hygienic Metal Pumps

By Pharmaceutical Processing | February 15, 2012

Saniflo® Hygienic Series (HS) metal AODD pumps have been specifically designed with a variety of features to help pharmaceutical manufacturers maximize their process efficiency, including a number of elastomer options such as full stroke PTFE integral piston diaphragms. These diaphragms offer superior product containment and are an excellent choice when pumping highly aggressive fluids within the pharmaceutical processing industry. The metal pumps are available with specialized air distribution systems, such as the revolutionary Pro-Flo X™ air-distribution system (ADS), which offers operational flexibility through its state-of-the-art Efficiency Management System (EMS™). The EMS allows each pump to be finely tuned by adjusting the air volume at the pump inlet with a variable control dial. In addition, the metal pumps meet the strict guidelines established for sanitary process applications in pharmaceutical manufacturing. They are designed to meet the demands of safety, performance and hygienic requirements, and they feature a redesigned liquid path that reduces internal friction to provide consistent output and ensure the careful transfer of product. The pumps also feature the standard benefits of self-priming, dry running, dead-head capability and low-shear transfer. They are FDA and EHEDG certified, available in four sizes from 25 mm (1 inch) to 76 mm (3 inches); feature flow rates to 918 lpm (243 gpm) and can handle solids to 76 mm (3 inches). These pumps are offered in 316L stainless steel. A variety of connection options are available such as: DIN clamp, SMS and Tri-Clamp style to meet specific requirements.
