Since the market introduction the sterilizing-grade filters, the use of PES-based membrane filters has become state of the art in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. GF filters feature a unique triple-layer construction made of glassfiber (GF) upstream fleece pleated together with heterogeneous double layer PES membranes for the highest total throughput performance and excellent clarification capability in critical pre-filtration applications. Tighter membranes have also been selected for respective 0.2 ?m and 0.1 ?m nominal retention ratings to provide exceptional protection to 0.2 ?m sterilizing-grade and 0.1 ?m mycoplasma retentive filters.
