NEW YORK
(AP) — Fujifilm Corp. will buy Merck & Co.’s biomanufacturing network for
an undisclosed amount, the companies said on Monday.
The biomanufacturing network provides contract manufacturing
and development services for the biopharmaceutical industry and Merck.
Under the deal, Fujifilm will buy all the interests of
Merck’s Diosynth and MDS Biologics subsidiaries. Diosynth has facilities are in
Research Triangle Park, N.C.,
and the MSD Biologics facilities are in Billingham in the United Kingdom.
As part of the agreement, Merck said it has also committed
to certain development and manufacturing activities with the two former units,
following the deal.
