WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 7, 2004) – In testimony before the House Government Reform Committee, Susan Finn, chair of the American Council for Fitness and Nutrition, called for public-private partnerships to fight obesity.
Though in support of the Department of Health’s “Small Steps” program, Finn emphasized the need for group efforts. “All sectors of society must work together to tackle obesity,” Finn said. “We need increased partnerships between the public and private sectors to find definitive, achievable, science-based solutions.”
