By Pharmaceutical Processing | January 20, 2009

Eden Biodesign, a provider of biopharmaceutical process development and cGMP manufacturing services, has announced the appointment of Maria Lusk as Director of Client Management at its US subsidiary, Eden Biodesign, Inc. Maria’s appointment marks the formal establishment of the company’s US project management function, and coincides with the expansion of the US office, as Eden Biodesign, Inc. this week formally moves to North Carolina’s biotech hub, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Maria brings to Eden Biodesign an in-depth knowledge of biotechnology and pharmaceutical markets, combined with extensive project management, business development, cGMP manufacturing and business development experience. This has been acquired over her 17 year career within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Dr Roger Lias, President of Eden Biodesign, Inc. and Group Commercial Director, said: “I am delighted to welcome Maria to the team. Her depth of hands-on experience solidifies Eden Biodesign, Inc’s commitment to project management as a central component of the company, as the US expansion continues”. Most recently, Maria was Project Manager and Business Development Manager at PharmaDirections Inc., where she spearheaded project management tasks for key clients and established a number of processes, tools and templates for the company, including business development and project management.  Previous to this, a significant proportion of Maria’s career was spent at Diosynth Biotechnology, where she held senior positions in global and regional project development, following successful roles in sales support and programm co-ordination. Maria also held roles at Bayer Corporation and LabCorp. Maria’s appointment also marks the opening of new US facilities at the company.  Dr Crawford Brown, CEO and founder of Eden Biodesign commented: “We are pleased to relocate to Research Triangle Park, one of the oldest, largest and most prestigious science parks in North America.  The move marks a significant growth period for Eden Biodesign as we continue to accelerate our North America expansion plans and our place in Research Triangle confirms that Eden Biodesign is recognised as one of the key players in the industry”.
