NATICK, Mass. (AP) — Boston Scientific received government approval for a new heart failure device, the company has announced.
The ACUITY Break-Away Lead Delivery System, approved by the Food and Drug Administration, is used with implantable defibrillators and pacemakers.
Leads are insulated wires that carry heart signals to the implanted device and deliver energy from the device to the heart. They are inserted into the heart through veins with a lead delivery system.
