Azopharma Product Development Group Announces Opening of a New Facility in South Florida

Azopharma Product Development Group, Inc. has announced the opening of a new facility in South Florida. The new 22,000 sq. ft. facility is home to Azopharma’s formulation development services, small-scale manufacturing, development services and specialized analytical services. The expanded facility allows for small scale manufacturing from 30 Kg to 50 Kg. The new facility also houses Azopharma’s new drug delivery company, ApiCross Drug Delivery Technologies which was launched at the 2007 AAPS Meeting & Exposition. According to Phil Meeks, CEO of Azopharma, “Our new facility allows us to expand our service offerings and take on larger scale projects to meet the needs of our pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device clients.” Specific Facility Highlights Include: Formulation Development Services Supporting Semi-Solids Liquids Solids Multi-Layer Tablets Lotions/Creams Gels Transdermal Patches Cytotoxic & Highly Potent Compound Development Services Facility/Equipment Advanced dust control system Analytical grade dry compressed air Full engineering staff including validation engineers, manufacturing engineers, manufacturing maintenance engineers and a validation specialist UPLC/MS-MS This new facility allows Azopharma to provide the full spectrum of development services required to be a leader in the industry. Mr. Meeks continued, “Azopharma Product Development Group is only one of a few organizations in the U.S. that are capable of developing a full spectrum of dosage forms from discovery through commercialization. By bringing together the best scientists in the field, state-of-the-art facilities and our focus on quality means that we can provide our partners a winning combination in total product development.”
