The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) has announced the 2018 Facility of the Year Awards (FOYA) category winners at its 2018 Europe Annual Conference in Rome, Italy. The winners include:
- BioMarin Pharmaceutical, Inc. (Project Execution)
- Shire (Facility Integration)
- Shire (Operational Excellence)
- Vetter Pharma-Fertigung GmbH & Co.KG (Facility of the Future)
- Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Co, a Pfizer Company (Sustainability)
The FOYA judges panel also awarded Honorable Mentions to:
FOYA is a global awards program recognizing innovation and creativity in manufacturing facilities serving the regulated healthcare industry. The award-winning projects selected by the FOYA program set the standard for pharmaceutical facilities of the future by demonstrating excellence in facility design, construction, and operations.

The 2018 FOYA Category Winners will be formally recognized at the ISPE Facility of the Year Awards Banquet and Dinner on November 4 in Philadelphia. Held in conjunction with the ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo, the banquet will feature acceptance speeches from the FOYA recipients and presentations from noted industry leaders. The 2018 FOYA Overall Winner will be announced at the conference during the Member Breakfast and Awards ceremony.
